You Need to Know
  • Open an account with an initial deposit of $35, all of which is available for the payment of tolls.
  • There are no additional costs or processing fees to start or maintain an account.
  • Tolls are deducted automatically each time you use a toll facility. Any remaining balance is refunded when you return your transponder.
  • Using E-ZPass saves more than $2 per trip when traveling the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel or South Norfolk Jordan Bridge
  • There are many ways to add funds to your E-ZPass account including local retailers (CVS, 7-eleven and Shore Stop) using an EZPass Virginia Reload Card (available in the store) or at one of the nearby E-ZPass Customer Service Centers
  • Make sure your E-ZPass account balance stays positive. E-ZPass does not pay for toll road invoices you receive in the mail- you will have to pay them directly.
