E-Z To Maintain

Once you have an E-ZPass, you'll never want to give it up. Maintaining your account is virtually trouble-free. To update any account information, you can go online, access our automated phone system, or if you prefer, you can talk to a customer service representative Monday – Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm excluding major holidays.

E-Z To Replenish

When your E-ZPass account reaches a balance less than or equal to the Replenishment Threshold for your account (minimum $10 per transponder), you will see a yellow light as you pass through the toll gate in some locations (some locations are open road and do not have lights). This tells you that it's time to add money to your account (if you have $10.25 on your account, and you pass through a 0.75 cents toll, you won't see a yellow light until you pass through again, by that time the account may have replenished automatically depending on your payment options).

If you have Automatic Replenishment, your account will be replenished within 24 hours of reaching the low balance threshold unless we experience a problem and can't process your replenishment. If you see the yellow light for two days in a row, you need to contact the service center.

If you chose to replenish manually, that's easy, too. You can add funds to your account by phone or online with a credit card, mail your payment to one of our service centers, or stop by and pay in person.

It can take up to 24 hours for new accounts, payments, and new transponders to be activated and reflected at Virginia toll plazas, and up to 48 hours out of state.

E-Z To Manage

Free quarterly account statements are available online to help you keep track of your E-ZPass expenses. Detailed monthly statements are available starting at $1 per month.

If you move, get a new vehicle, or change your credit card or bank account, you can update that information securely online, by phone at 877-762-7824, or at your nearest E-ZPass Service Center.

If you want to get an additional transponder, transfer a transponder, get a privacy statement or close an account, you can download all the forms and information, or log into your account to request these actions to be processed.

E-Z To Exchange Transponders

If your transponder stops working or you want to exchange your Standard transponder for a new Flex transponder, you can log into your account and request an exchange on the transponders page or simply mail it to the E-ZPass Service Center, P.O. Box 1234, Clifton Forge, VA 24422-1234 or drop it by the service center nearest you. A monthly account fee will apply for transponders issued after July 9, 2012.
